Following up the short film project 'Doves' about three young children experiencing play & freedom among the cornfield that lines the back of their country dwelling, Dovelet is a glimpse into boundless belief of the envible wonder children seem to retain and the strength they possess in their innocence.

The expression of image was the leading theme of the project ‘Nicole 16x’. Through the reproduction of the photography in replication of an image seventeen women represented themselves in a double role. Sixteen colour photographs (format 20x20cm) showed the women in their daily image with their own outfit and makeup. Sixteen black and white photographs (format 40x40cm) presented the metamorphosis and manipulation of their identity. It is about replication of photography ‘HJ116’ that was made in October 1965 for Harper’s Bazaar by Peter Shepherd. At the Photography ‘HJ116’ Nicole de La Marge poses with the velvet hat and pom-pom made from ostrich leather. 

Acceptance of media images is not necessarily stereotyping, moreover it is a creative process that can provide new quality and pleasure.
